Working 9 to 5

Actually for the past 4 months I’ve been working 8 to 7. I started a new job a while ago at Michael Page International as an IT Recruitment Consultant. Moving from home was a bit scary, just tossing in my job and taking my chances, but it’s completely paid off in full. I feel like for the first time I’ve trusted myself and given myself a chance to explore who I am and I’m the happiest I can remember being.

Working in such a high paced environment has it’s good points and it’s bad points. I don’t think I’ve been bored for a single second since I’ve started and I’m certainly not starved of work, but working so hard is definitely taxing and I don’t get much time during the week to do anything much. Having said that, I get every single Saturday and Sunday off and that is just awesome.

I haven’t had an internet connection since I moved to Sydney, hence the lack of updates on the sit, but hopefully I’ll remedy that very shortly and be able to write here a little more often. I’m also planning on either finishing my degree or using the credit points to a new degree via Open University, so that is going to take even more of my time.

Also, Claire and I have been together for a year in a few days. I can’t believe how happy I am - I honestly feel like everything is coming together and I owe so much of it to her. Being in Sydney, the new job, I owe it all to Claire and I think she knows it.
